During this seminar you will learn how having Butterflies in your backyard is an indicator of a healthy environment and a healthy ecosystem. We can also teach you what to plant to attract butterflies creating your own backyard butterfly sanctuary. Butterflies and moths collectively provide a wide range of environmental benefits, including pollination and natural pest control. The importance of protecting their habitat cannot be overstated.
Our guest and presenter, David Droppers, is an avid naturalist. He first became interested in butterflies after seeing the butterfly exhibit in Woodland Park Zoo. David has a Bachelor's in Environmental Science and a Master's in Environmental Education. Currently he is working with the pollinator inventory project with the Forest Service.
